somewhere between a browser glitch and a pop song with a strange instrumental no one remembers the name of. when life just feels like a scrapped music video from 2007.

faceclaim naoi rei (ive)

build slender, with a delicate silhouette and a heart-shaped face that makes her look gentler than she really is. wide, expressive eyes, a soft jawline and naturally full lips: features that once got her labeled as “marketable" and “doll-like”

mannerisms she rarely smiles with her eyes unless close with the person she's facing and her stillness can be unnerving, like she’s always thinking three exits ahead. she walks light on her feet, quiet and deliberate with the posture of someone who learned early to take up less space.

style her clothing usually walks the line between hyperpop chaos and low-res grunge, almost like she's breaking every idol-grooming rule on purpose. She blends thrifted softness (vintage baby tees, plaid skirts, oversized cable-knit sweaters) with distortion: fishnets, torn hems, platform boots, ear cuffs, old band patches.

scent clean linen, white tea, and soft musk – the kind of scent that feels freshly washed but untouchable. It’s subtle, non-perfume-y. Barely there. Just enough to make you want to lean in, but not enough to really know whether it's a perfume or a natural smell. (favourite perfume: Maison Margiela's “Lazy Sunday Morning”)

⟡ ROO_BIOGRAPHY.ZIP

⋆˙⟡Roo was born Hattori Haruka in Nagoya, Japan. After her parents’ divorce, she stayed with her mother who would remarry soon after and Mei, her twin sister, was raised by their father. Though separated young, the twins kept in touch in secret, quietly tethered by their shared bond and eventual dream of working in the entertainment industry.
⋆˙⟡At 13, Roo was scouted by a mid-sized Tokyo talent agency for her soft, doll-like features. She moved to Tokyo alone, chasing a dream that doubled as an excuse to be closer to Mei, who had also begun training in the industry.
⋆˙⟡Her quiet charm landed her in commercials, teen fashion magazines, and music video cameos. She was never quite a household name but always close to becoming one.
⋆˙⟡With the money she earned, she helped her parents finally open a traditional restaurant in Nagoya – a way out of their long, thankless corporate jobs. It was the only part of her career that felt genuinely good.
⋆˙⟡By the summer of 2021, her agency had begun quietly preparing her to debut in a J-pop girl group. but as she gained traction, a stalker began following her, waiting outside agency buildings, sending threatening letters, appearing near her train station. She reported it immediately but her manager told her to keep quiet and that stirring drama would ruin her image.
⋆˙⟡She grew anxious and withdrawn, often resisting new photoshoots or pulling out of live events last minute. The agency labeled her “difficult,” even as she begged for stronger security.
⋆˙⟡When the stalker finally attacked her near a train station, she realized no one was coming to protect her. her parents still in nagoya and her company not caring to protect its artists. Promotions paused and her name disappeared from group plans. by the end of 2022, she had quietly vanished from the industry.
⋆˙⟡In early 2023, with no support and no clear future, she packed her things and left for Seoul on a student visa. She began going by "Matsui Rukia" instead of her real name – a quiet attempt to bury the life she left behind in Japan.
⋆˙⟡Growing up in the industry meant she never had the chance to build real friendships at school, so most of her teenage years were spent online. But through that isolation, she stayed close with her twin sister Mei and also formed a deep bond with Jiyeon (@cherrjis), a friend she met on the internet (and who she was a fan of for way before that). Both were ultimately the ones who convinced her that Seoul might offer her a different kind of life.
⋆˙⟡To make the move possible, she enrolled at Hongik University under a student visa, majoring in fashion design – something she’d always admired from afar but never thought she could actually pursue.
⋆˙⟡She first lived with Jiyeon before eventually finding an affordable room to rent in a shared apartment. These days, she works night shifts at a 7-Eleven and occasionally models for student designers and indie brands. She sends what she can back to Nagoya to help support her parents, though she often struggles to make ends meet.

ONE : ✶

She keeps a burner phone. it’s just a cheap flip phone that only her parents and one other person back in Japan have the number to. She turns it on maybe once a month and keeps it tucked inside a sock, at the very back of a drawer.

THREE : ✶

she's sociable but distant. laughs easily, loves to make others laugh, flirts with sarcasm but keeps everyone at arm’s length. she finds it scary when someone starts getting too close to her and usually finds herself pushing back once that's starting to happen.

FIVE : ✶

she doesn't like cooking for other people despite being a pretty decent cook, having learned how to cook from her parents. it's usually Simple meals like rice bowls, miso soup or her favourite dish kishimen. and she usually bring some of her own food to work and uni to avoid having to spend money.

SEVEN : ✶

gets extremely uncomfortable when people call her by her supposed real name or even ask her what her real name is after having introduced herself as "roo" + kinda regrets choosing an alias so close to her birth name.

✶ : TWO

She doesn't smoke, but she secretly likes the smell of cigarettes. It reminds her of backstage dressing rooms, early train stations and her home (her father was a heavy smoker). it feels Nostalgic to her – a little grimy and yet strangely comforting.

✶ : FOUR

She lies easily. Not maliciously, just out of instinct. If you ask her where she’s from, she’ll say Osaka. Or Fukuoka. Or “outside Tokyo.” She only tells the truth when she’s sure it's safe and just finds it easier to lie in most situations.

✶ : SIX

Suffers from insomnia and often ends up wandering the park near her apartment late at night. Sometimes she sits on the same swing for an hour and at times she'll even do her uni assignments there. she jokingly calls herself “an early bird trapped in a night owl’s body”.

✶ : EIGHT

has an unhealthy obsession with monchhichis and will sometimes spend her last money on getting a new one instead of buying herself food. always carries around at least 3 of them and keeps the rest on a shrine like display in her apartment.

⟡ ROO_PLOTS.ZIP

i'll try to come up with some actual plots soon but
in the meantime i'm always down to brainstorm.

easy connections:

⋆˙⟡ people who were in the industry around the same time as her (around 2016 to 2022) or lived in japan during that time and know her from back then. would have to specify their relationship and how they met through plotting because upon initially meeting she'd try to deny her old identiy.

⋆˙⟡ people she met through work either as regulars of the 7-eleven she works at (close to the clubbing scene so they could also have a fun backstory on how they met) or even co-workers that once worked there or still do.

⋆˙⟡ anyone studying fashion design (could've met through a forum or at an event) or studying at hongik university (could've met on campus, at the cafeteria etc.).

all of that being said if your muse reaches out to roo before i get the chance to send out dms, i don't mind your muse approaching in a manner that would allude to them already having known each other. i'll just go along – whether they're strangers just meeting or pre-est friends.
